The Chapel of the Holy Cross sits high atop the red rocks in Sedona, Arizona. This building was commissioned by a local rancher and sculptor Marguerite Brunswig Staude. In 1932 she was inspired to build such a church by the construction of the Empire State Building. She decided to build this in her native homeland after her attempt to build it in Budapest failed because of the World War II outbreak.

This building was one I simply couldn't stop staring at. Its location is beautiful and feels so powerful sitting atop this mountain. Looking down on the town of Sedona, protecting its residents.

The view inside the church is breathtaking. They have candles you can light, I lit one for a loved one who has passed. Rows of benches for prayers to be said and a specific place to stand so that if you look up, Jesus is staring right at you. (See image below)
